Day 87 – Pens and Carbs

I love these ridiculous cards with smiley food on them. I think there’s bread, Cheerios, and coffee.i kinda forgot I had these (have I mentioned I have too many cards?), so I was happy to find them! I have a new fountain pen penpal, so I figured this was perfect for a little message for her!

This pen is a Parker (Duofold?) Pastel that I bought at the Atlanta Pen Show. I was sad to come home and find that it wasn’t inking properly because the j bar was too short. My friend Fernando fixed it up using some metal meant for fixing watches (?!) because he’s a genius. I’m so lucky to be surrounded by such wonderful pen folks. He said the pen is from 1929-1932, so I’m glad to have this old fella up and running! It’s tiny, and perfect for my little hands!

Day 84 – Attempted Mail Decorating

By now I’m sure you all can tell that I’m the least creative person on the planet… But I try! This card is headed to my penpal Jess in California. She always has the cutest stationery, and I have a hard time finding anything like that around here. Even if I could, I definitely don’t need any more snail mail stuff for a while! My collection of cards is, well, out of control, to say the least. I’m working on slimming it down, though!

Pen: Wing Sung 698

Ink: Akkerman 11 Treves Turquoise

Off to: California

Day 80 – Cat Helper!

Tonight the cat that I live with decided to try to help me with my letter writing. 😂 My cousin (his favorite human) has been out of town for a week and a half, so he’s been stuck with nobody but me to love on him. Normally he doesn’t care about me at all, and he’s never jumped on my desk like this, so this was a pleasant surprise!

Off to: California

Day 79 – Letter Writers Alliance Part 6

Whew, this is my last card from the Letter Writers Alliance meetup! I sure get some snail mail exercise during that evening! This one is headed to another friend from NYC who graciously helped us through the city and also accompanied us to the National Stationery Show every day. He was super helpful and fun to hang out with, and I honestly don’t think we could have done it without him!

Pen: TWSBI AL Mini

Ink: Robert Oster Midnight Sapphire

Off to: NYC

Here’s a group shot of all the mail I did at the meetup! Whew! It’s only a few weeks until we have another one (no meetup in July)! I look forward to it already!
