Day 88 – Space Pen!

It’s a bit unusual for me to use a non fountain pen, but I just got this 50th anniversary Space Pen so I had to put it to use! This Postcrossing card is headed to Germany, where I think half of the Postcrossing users live.

Do you use Postcrossing? If not, you should totally sign up! It’s a fun way to send and receive cards from all over the world. I’ve been a member for years and years, and have sent something like 110 cards.

Day 87 – Pens and Carbs

I love these ridiculous cards with smiley food on them. I think there’s bread, Cheerios, and coffee.i kinda forgot I had these (have I mentioned I have too many cards?), so I was happy to find them! I have a new fountain pen penpal, so I figured this was perfect for a little message for her!

This pen is a Parker (Duofold?) Pastel that I bought at the Atlanta Pen Show. I was sad to come home and find that it wasn’t inking properly because the j bar was too short. My friend Fernando fixed it up using some metal meant for fixing watches (?!) because he’s a genius. I’m so lucky to be surrounded by such wonderful pen folks. He said the pen is from 1929-1932, so I’m glad to have this old fella up and running! It’s tiny, and perfect for my little hands!

Day 86 – Fun With Flags

I’m a big fan of flags, always have been, so when we saw these Arkansas flag postcards at Dallas Market, we just had to get them for my local pen store. I’ve loved having them, cause they’re super handy to send to Postcrossing folks who like flags – which is exactly what I’m doing! This one is off to Latvia, and I’m pretty sure I’ve never sent one there before. Fun!

Also, if you have to use a “normal person” pen (postcards aren’t very fountain pen friendly), make it a good one!

Pen: Karas Kustoms brass/aluminum

Day 84 – Attempted Mail Decorating

By now I’m sure you all can tell that I’m the least creative person on the planet… But I try! This card is headed to my penpal Jess in California. She always has the cutest stationery, and I have a hard time finding anything like that around here. Even if I could, I definitely don’t need any more snail mail stuff for a while! My collection of cards is, well, out of control, to say the least. I’m working on slimming it down, though!
